Glacier Bay is a place defined by change. All aspects of the landscape show the effects of glaciers. Moving north through the bay is like going back in time. In the South Bay, young forests have taken over a landscape not long ago covered in ice. Moving north in the bay, vegetation thins and then disappears entirely, leaving only a brutal landscape of rock and ice. Near the glaciers, the source of the change is obvious. The ceaseless sounds of ice calving and grinding against rock serve as a constant reminder.

This portfolio documents these ancient, disappearing agents of change, highlighting not just their immense scale and brutality, but also their sensuality and organic form.
